DeskSMS for Android (Free Beta)

DeskSMS forwards your text messages to your GMail and Google Chat. And if you reply back, the recipient gets a text from your number!

You can use your favorite IM client (Beejive, Trillian, etc) or email client to send text messages from your phone number!

Download DeskSMS on your phone, and then use your an IM or email client from your XOOM or other Android Tablet to send text messages!

Step 1) Install DeskSMS on your *phone*.
Step 2) Install a chat client or use gmail on your desktop PC or tablet (like a XOOM)
Step 3) Have a friend send you an SMS, and respond from your desktop PC or tablet!

THIS IS AN OPEN BETA SO BE PREPARED TO DEAL WITH SOME BUGS! :) IF YOU HAVE ISSUES, PLEASE GO TO THE FACEBOOK PAGE, AND DESCRIBE IN DETAIL WHAT THIS ISSUE WAS! (ie, sending text from Gtalk or Gmail, receiving texts to GTalk, etc. Also, please include your phone model and Android version and ROM if applicable)


Tips:
We recommend using Gmail filters to keep your inbox organized!
Use the DeskSMS widget to quickly toggle which notifications you get!

Troubleshooting:
For incoming Google Talk messages, remember to approve the contact from number@desksms.appspotchat.com!

Not getting your message on your computer? Try logging in again. Verify that your default SMS app is enabled. If you are using a third party SMS application like GoSMS or Handcent, verify that you are NOT disabling notifications to other SMS applications!
